Gingerbread houses have been a tradition for me since I was a kid. Except when I was a kid we actually made the frosting and put the houses together instead of getting the
prebuilt houses. I guess this is the lazy way of doing it but it sure is easier, especially with young kids. When I was a kid I would fill the inside with as much candy as I could before I put the roof on because I knew I would be allowed to eat the candy that was apart of my house but the rest of the candy would be gone. I think it was a pretty good strategy.

I never knew.
I'm amazed you never knew but at the same time that was the goal.
